O. E. JACOBSON RITES MONDAY
FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD AT METHODIST CHURCH AT NORA SPRINGSFuneral services for O E. Jacobson, father of Mrs. R. H. Ericson, 121 Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast, will be held at the First Methodist church at Nora springs at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. The Rev. c. D. James, pastor of the church, will be in charge of services.
Mr. Jacobson, who would have been 80 Saturday, died at Los Angeles Wednesday from a fracture of the hip received a week ago. He had been a resident of Nora Springs for many years before moving to Los Angeles and had operated a store in Nora Springs 48 years.
Surviving Mr. Jacobson are his children, Mrs. Maude Ericson, Mason City; Lloyd Jacobson and Nora Van Camp, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Eva Shanks and Glen Jacobson Nora Springs, and Mrs. Blanche Gallagher, Waverly; and two brothers, Frank and J. E. Jacobson, Nora Springs; and one sister; Mrs. Mary Larson, Duluth, Minnesota.

OLE JACOBSON, WHO DIED FOLLOWING FALL, BURIED IN NORA SPRINGS
Nora Springs – Funeral services for Ole Jacobson were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. C. D. James in charge, assisted by the Rev. Hiram Jacobson of Williams, a nephew of the deceased.
Burial was in Park Cemetery.Mr. Jacobson was born at Strummen, Norway, and came to America with his parents when he was four years old, locating in Clayton county, Iowa, for a short time.
As a young man, he came to Nora Springs where he was employed by the Nelson Brothers milling Company.
In 1884 he was married to Miss Lottie Knightlinger. The following year they moved to Sacramento, California, where he operated a cigar store. Returning to Nora Springs, he entered the grocery business. After a time he joined the Nelson Brothers Milling company as a partner, later becoming owner of the mill and electric light plant for approximately 48 years.
Mr. Jacobson served on the school board as president for 30 years. He was on the Park Cemetery executive board and in 1905 was elected president and served from 1906 to 1923. Retiring from business, he made his home with his youngest son, Lloyd, in Los Angeles, California.
Two weeks ago he fell and broke his hop which resulted in his death Wednesday, April 21. His wife preceded him.
He is survived by his six children, Mrs. J. J. Gallagher, Waverly; Mrs. R. H. Ericson, Mason City; Glenn Jacobson and Mrs. L. K. Shanks, Nora Springs; Mrs. J. G. Van Kampen and Lloyd Jacobson of Los Angeles, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Gustav E. and John E. Jacobson of Nora Springs and one sister, Mrs. Mary Larson of Duluth, Minnesota.
