FRED A. FRUDDEN SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS

Nora Springs – Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the Nora Springs Luthceran Church, for Fred A. Frudden, 72, who died Sunday following a long illness. Burial will be in Nora Springs Cemetery.

Frudden was with General Pershing’s expedition into Mexico, and later as a commissioned officer, served in France during World War I.

He was born in Ossian, June 18, 1888, and was married to Bertha Buckmann, December 31, 1926, at Nora Springs. He attended Charles City High School and the University of Wisconsin.

From 1906 to 1909 he was employed at the First Trust and Savings Bank in Charles City. In 1922 he became owner and operator of the Frudden Lumber Co., in Nora Springs. He was a past commander of both the Charles City and Nora Springs American Legion.

Survivors include his wife and three brothers, C. E. Frudden, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; C. M. Frudden, Greene; and W. E. Frudden, Charles City.
