FORMER NORA SPRINGS WOMAN DIES AT 80

Nora Springs – Word has been received of the death at San Bernardino, California, of Mrs. Joe E. Bergemeyer, 80. The Bergemeyers lived in Nora Springs and Mason City until moving to California in 1945.

Funeral services were conducted in a San Bernardino funeral chapel and burial was in Mt. View Cemetery.

Mrs. Bergemeyer, nee Eva Claudy, was born in McGregor, Iowa, April 11, 1882, the daughter of Daniel and Malinda Claudy. She attended school in McGregor and U.I.U. at Fayette.

On June 19, 1912, she was married to Joe E. Bergemeyer, also of McGregor, who died in November 1961. A son, Frederick was born May 27, 1913, and died at the age of 39.

Mrs. Bergemeyer is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pollock, Denison, Iowa; Mrs. Margery Goergen, McGregor; three granddaughters and two grandsons.
