Anton Neis 1874-1942

CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Anton F. Neis, 68, died suddenly at his home Saturday night following a heart attack. He was a stationary engineer at the Fisher Company plant here for many years, having resided in Charles City for 33 years.

Born in Washington County, Iowa, February 16, 1874, son of Anton Neis and Marie (Frank) Neis. He married Harriet Miller at Keosauqua, Iowa, August 17, 1903.

He leaves his widow, one daughter, Frances N., both of Charles City, and the following brothers and sisters, Louis Neis, Charles City; J. L. Neis, Keosauqua; Earl Neis, Des Moines; Mrs. Emma Peterson, Northville, South Dakota; Mrs. Bessie Keller, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Elva Lynch and Maude Neis, both of Paso Robles, California.

A daughter, Marjorie, died March 17, 1914.

Funeral at the Lindaman Funeral Home, at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday; burial in Riverside Cemetery.
