Doris Elaine (Doddy) Klunder, 71, of the Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, Iowa, and formerly of Plainfield, Iowa, died on Friday evening, November 12, 2004, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, of natural causes.

Doris was born on October 21, 1933, in Plainfield, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Dellice (Riebhoff) Kingsley. Doris attended school in Plainfield and graduated from the Plainfield High School in 1952. After graduation she went to work at Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Company in the incoming mail department. On October 19, 1952, Doris was united in marriage to Eldon Klunder at the United Methodist Church in Plainfield. The couple made their home in Plainfield. Eldon died on September 28, 1960, and Doris continued to raise her family in Plainfield. In February of 2000, Doris became a resident of the Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Doris was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Nashua and a former member of the United Methodist Church in Plainfield. Doris enjoyed playing cards and fishing. She had a tremendous sense of humor and she loved life and all it had to offer.

She is survived by her one son and his wife, Kelvin and Judy Klunder of Ceylon, Minnesota; two daughters and their husbands, Janalee and Tony Carvalho of Ocean City, Hawaii, and Jodee and Marlin Anderson of Irving, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Grekoff of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Myrna King of New Hampton, Iowa. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon; a brother, Harold (Bud) Kingsley Jr.; a sister, Betty in infancy; and one grandson, Matthew Klunder.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2004, 1:30 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, with Rev. Anne Sunday officiating. Doris's body has been cremated, but the family will greet friends at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday. Burial of her cremains will be in the Willow Lawn Cemetery in Plainfield. Memorials may be directed to the family or the donor's choice.
