Mrs. A. Stiehl
dies at 78;
Rites Saturday

CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Central Methodist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery for Mrs. A. A. Stiehl, 78. Hansen Funeral Home is in charge.

She died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at the Cedar Valley Hospital after being admitted there shortly before noon. Death was from complications following an internal hemorrhage.

Mrs. Stiehl had lived in Charles City since 1907 and has been prominent in the Central Methodist Church, serving as church organist until ten years ago. She was a member of the W.S.C.S.

Stella H. Merten was born December 12, 1882 near Colesburg, the daughter of Elias and Mary Spicker Merten. She was married to Albert A. Stiehl, July 21, 1910 in Charles City.

She is survived by her husband, a son, James Stiehl, Barrington, Illinois, two grandsons, and a brother, Howard Merten living in England.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Dorothy, who died in 1922, and two brothers.
