Mary Lou Reams, 63, of Charles City, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Mary Lou will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Riverton Cemetery, rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Mary Lou Johnson Reams was born July 1, 1948, at Charles City, the daughter of Ralph and Jessie (Warren) Johnson. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1966 and later continued her education at Capri School of Cosmetology. On July 9, 1966, she was united in marriage to Wallace "Wally" Reams. They lived in Charles City all of their lives where she would spend her days as a beautician. Mary Lou was very accommodating, always willing to meet the needs of her elderly clientele. Her interests included bowling, going to the casino and collecting Indian memorabilia. Mary Lou's family was always very important to her and she took every opportunity to share in the events of their lives no matter where it may be.

Living family members include her husband, Wallace "Wally" Reams of Charles City; three daughters, Jennifer (Justin) Geerts of North Washington, and Ginger (Corey) Schmidt and Lindsay Reams both of Charles City; six grandchildren, Lowen Reams and special friend, Lindsay Lewis, Tanner Schmidt, Dalton Reams and special friend, Leah Brekke, Keaton Geerts, Tayler Schmidt and Cade Schmidt; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
