Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, September 21, 1994, at the Hauser Funeral Home in
Charles City, for Harley Frankenfield, 79, who died at his home at 106 Hilltop Drive, Charles City, on Saturday. The United Methodist pastor, Rev. Blair Rohde-Frank, officiated, and burial was in the West St. Charles Cemetery.The family suggests memorials be directed to the West St. Charles United Methodist Church, Floyd
County Fair, or Heart to Home Hospice.Harley Benjamin Frankenfield was born November 7, 1914 in Floyd County, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Betty (Woelfer, formerly of Rockford) of Charles City; a son, William, of Baltimore, Maryland; three daughters: Kathryn Whitson of McClelland; Janet Kramer of Birmingham, Alabama; and Joanne Carpenter of Charles City; three stepsons: Ronald LaCoste of Rockford; Richard LaCoste of Mason City; and Chad LaCoste of Floyd; three stepdaughters: Marilyn Grygo of Nekoosa, Wisconsin; Patricia Tuberty of Newark, Ohio; and Polly Schmidt of Nora Springs; two sisters: Ruth VanAntwerp of Cottage Grove, Oregon; and Marie Mendenhal of Cedar Falls; and 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and an infant grandson.
