CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Ferris A Wells, 93, of Charles City, died Monday, September 19 at the Eleventh Street Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City after a brief illness.

Survivors include two sons, Everett of Muskegon, Michigan and Emmett of Charles City; a daughter; Elaine Lane of Charles City four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin of the Quad Cities area.

He was preceded in death by a son in infancy; seven sisters; five brothers; and two grandsons.

Private services and burial will take place at a later date; there will be no visitation.

Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wells was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army in France. He operated furniture and hardware stores in Indiana, Florida and Michigan, and with his wife operated several motels until their retirement.
