Arlee Miller, 72, of Rudd, Iowa, died on Friday, March 4, 1994, at the Muse Norris Inpatient Hospice Center in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Rudd United Methodist Church, with Rev. M. Reth officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City. Sunnyside Chapel Funeral Home of Charles City were in charge of arrangements.

The family intends to direct memorials to the Muse Norris Hospice unit in Mason City, and the Rudd United Methodist Church.

Arlee is the daughter of William and Ruth Stiles, born April 26, 1921 in Floyd county, Iowa. She was a life-long Rudd area resident and member of the Rudd United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and part-time cook at the school and local restaurants, and also self-employed seamstress. For many years she has enjoyed sewing and crafts.

On December 9, 1939, she and Arnold W. Miller were married at Northwood. They were later divorced.

Survivors include five sons: Jerry and wife, Judy, of Rudd, Gene of Houston, Texas, Jim of Cypress, Calif, John and wife, Carol of Rudd, Joel and wife, Linda, Rudd, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers: Keith (Ole) of Nora Springs, Boyd, of Rudd, Kenneth (Red), of Rudd, Leland (Jiggs), Graettinger, Eldon of Yerington, Nevada; two sisters, Betty Laudner of Santee, Calif., and Dorothy Newton of East Moline, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lois Johannson.
