STAFFORD, VIRGINIA - Myron "Red" Newton of Stafford passed away Monday, January 16, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va.
Red was born on January 10, 1936, in Rudd, Iowa, to Irving and Lolabelle Pennell Newton, and is a veteran of the United States Navy.
For several years, he also was a co-owner of an accounting and tax business in the Frederickburg area.
Red is survived by his wife of 52 years, Grace, sons, Mark Andrew Newton and wife Lisa, Wade Patrick Newton, and Ira Daniel Newton and one daughter, Theresa Newton Jarrells and husband Jeffery; three brothers, Doyle and wife Dorothy, Charles and wife Jan and Leroy and wife Carol. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Travis and Katelynn Jarrells, Lexi Rogers and Jacob and Hannah Newton.
Red is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday Jan. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service Fredericksburg Chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.
