Bennett was born on January 12, 1923, in Avery township, Hancock County, Iowa, the daughter of Harm and Clara Vierkant. She graduated from the eighth grade at her country school, Owen 7. Bennett was a lifelong farmer and business woman and was loved by all who met her. She was united in marriage to Daniel L. Sharp on Oct. 22, 1942. They enjoyed more than 60 years of marriage together.

Bennett's love for life, and her courage was an inspiration to all that were lucky enough to meet her. She lived life to the fullest and without any regret. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, and sewing; fishing in Minnesota, traveling to Yellowstone and Mexico with her neighbors, and enjoying the fall harvest season. Most of all she loved to spend good times with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. All that had the privilege to know her will miss the zeal and passion that she was so well known for.
