Hulda E. Brandau, 96, of rural Rudd, Iowa, died Friday, July 29, 1994, at the Nora Springs Health Care Center.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at Eden Presbyterian Church near Rudd with the Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial was in Eden Presbyterian Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brandau was born October 31, 1897, in Hermann, Maryland, daughter of Edward and Katherine (Philipp) Ahrens. She moved with her family to the Nora Springs area around 1904, and was educated in rural schools in the area.
She was married to Edward Brandau on October 2, 1918 at her parents’ home in Nora Springs. The couple farmed in the Rudd area. The husband died in 1978. Mrs. Brandau was a member of the Eden Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. John (Alice) Ohden of Floyd; Mrs. Neil (Lucille) Bisbee of Stacyville; Mrs. Homer (Eunice) Stockdale of Aplington; and Elinor Sinning of Rudd; one son, Reuben Brandau and his wife, Madge, of Rudd; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward; an infant son, Alton; four brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Norval Sinning.
