Funeral srvices for Ilo G. Bass, 95, of Marble Rock were held on Friday, October 28, 1994 at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Marble Rock, with Rev. R. Johnson of the United Methodist Church of Greene officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock.

Ilo Gale Reed was born on March 24, 1899 in rural Marble Rock, Floyd County, iowa, a daugher of George Nathaniel and Kate (Ludwig) Reed, and died Wednesday, October 26, 1994, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital from Complications of age.

She received her eduation in the Oaks School in Floyd County, and was united in marriage to Theodore Eugene bass in 1942. They farmed in the rural Marble Rock area until 1962, when they moved to Hartville, Missouri. Following the death of Mr. Bass in 1964, she returned to Marble Rock where she made her home until entering what is now the Liebe Care Center in Greene.

Ilo was a member of the former Bethel Baptist Church in Marble Rock, and a member of the Jolly Seniors. She will be remembered for her love of playing the piano and crocheting.

Survivors include her sister, Orpha Truex of Greene; three nieces: Catherine Woodruff of Denver Colorado; Bonnie Buckingham of Des Moines; Phyllis and her husband Lew Majewski of Greene; three nephews: Jim and his wife Betty McLennan of Greene, Lloyd and his wife, Mary Reed of Marble Rock; and Bob Scott of Otley, Iowa. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Ecco Cates and Nola Scott, and two brothers, Clifford and Maynard Reed.
