Minnie E (Betts) Collins – July 12, 1874 – August 19, 1954

Mrs. Minnie E. Collins, 79, died at her home at Charles City after being ill since last March. She and her family had lived in Riceville many years, moving to Charles City five years ago. Burial was in the Wayne cemetery at McIntire Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Collins was born July 12, 1875, at Spirit Lake, the daughter of Silas and Harriett Potter Betts. Her marriage to Joseph C. Collins took place Oct. 4, 1893, at Osage. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1937, in Riceville.

She is survived by three daughters, Roxie, Ruth, and Lucy Collins, all of Charles City; two grandsons, Joseph G. Collins and Donald Kenneth Collins, Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, Clifford Betts, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and a brother-in-law, Amos Hartwig, Chicago, Ill.
