Mrs. Emil Lincke, Dead at 87

Amanda Horgen Lincke 1899-1986

Funeral services were held Monday, March 24, 1986 at Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Amanda Lincke, 87, of Charles City, Iowa, and formerly of Osage, Iowa. Rev. D. Niezwaag of St. John's Lutheran Church of Charles City officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Mrs. Lincke died Thursday, March 20, 1986, at a Charles City nursing home.

She was born on March 3, 1899 in Orchard, Iowa, to Gilbert and Ingaborg Horgen. She graduated from Osage High School and Cedar Valley Seminary here.

On May 4, 1920, she and Emil Lincke were united in marriage in Osage. Mr. Lincke died in 1983.

Mrs. Lincke worked for several years as a clerk in the former Goplerud Department store in Osage. She cooked in several Osage restaurants and during World War II she worked for the former Cedar Valley Produce Co. in Osage. For the past 24 years she has lived in Charles City.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Velva Meyer of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Kristiansen and Mrs. Lyle (Edna) Stott, both of Charles City; one son, Glen, of Burton, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Ingwal Horgen of Petersburg, Virginia.
