MASON CITY, IOWA — Rachelle E. Lundblad, 88, of Oakdale, Minn., and formerly of Mason City, died Tuesday (Nov. 1, 2005) at the United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. There will be no visitation.

Inurnment services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.

Memorials may be given to the Art and Rachelle Lundblad Memorial Fund at North Iowa Area Community College.

Rachelle was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Pierson, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Stivers) Harvey. She graduated from Pierson High School, attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., and graduated from the University of Denver, Denver, Colo.

Rachelle married Arthur “Art” Lundblad on March 11, 1943, in Sioux City, Iowa. She taught school for many years in a number of communities including Holly Springs, Nora Springs and Mason City. Rachelle retired from teaching in 1979 after teaching 19 years in Mason City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, I.S.T.A. and Eastern Star.

Rachelle is survived by two sons, Philip Lundblad and wife JoEllen, of St. Paul, Minn., and Kurt Lundblad and wife, Laura, of Woodbury, Minn.; and grandchildren Matthew and Ellie Lundblad and Nils Peter Lundblad.

Rachelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art, in 1993, and nine brothers and two sisters.
