Lulla (Mrs. Harold) Schmidt, 83, a resident of 124 Park Lane Drive, Charles City, died Monday morning, July 17, 1995, at her home.

Funeral services for Lulla Schmidt will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. The Rev. Blair Rohde-Frank, pastor of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the West St. Charles Cemetery in rural Floyd County.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from noon to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to service time.

Lulla Erna Vandeventer Schmidt was born on Feb. 6, 1912, at Webster City, the daughter of Ernest Romanzo and Grace C. Naber Vandeventer. She received her education in the Nashua and Charles City schools. On September 17, 1930, she and Harold Reuben Schmidt were married in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. She has lived in Charles City since 1924. She was employed by the Woolworth Store and by the Ben Franklin Store for 17 years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Happy Hour Club, the West St. Charles Homemakers and the McDonald's coffee group. She was a hospice patient.

Living family members include a son and his wife, Kenneth and Rose of rural Charles City; a sister, Lavernus (Mrs. Ivan) Friend of Charles City; and two brothers; Elroy Vandeventer of Louisville, KY., and Raymond Vandeventer of Charles City. There are 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold in 1979; two sons; four brothers, four sisters; and a granddaughter.
