James ‘Shimmy Jimmy' L. Hall

FLOYD, IOWA — James "Shimmy Jimmy" L. Hall, 56, died Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2005) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. Monday until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to James ‘Shimmy Jimmy' L. Hall Memorial Fund in care of Charlotte Litchman of 107 S. Quinby Ave., Nora Springs, IA 50458.

James Leroy Hall was born June 6, 1948, in Charles City, the son of John D. and Pauline M. (Linderman) Hall. Jimmy attended school in Charles City.

Jimmy spent many hours and days serving his community. He loved dancing at Lu's Lounge in Clear Lake. He also enjoyed dancing during the annual Buddy Holly weekend in February.

Harry O from KLSS sponsored Jimmy for his break dancing, that's how he received the nickname "Shimmy Jimmy." He was given that name for the way he would move his hips! He was a naturalist, he enjoyed the great outdoors.

He spent time in Clear Lake helping the DNR, Clear Lake Police Department, Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, along with other organizations. He loved his community.

Shimmy Jimmy was everyone's friend, he loved helping people. He attended church wherever he was at the present time. He will be greatly missed by all!

He had been fighting health issues for many years, and now his battle is over, he can rest in peace, joining his family standing next to God.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hall and family, of Floyd; daughter, April Lindloff-Hall, of Mason City; stepchildren, Cassandra Lindloff, Laura Allen, Kevin Allen, Tim Allen and Joey Allen; grandson, Joseph Gleason; brothers and sisters, Frances McMann, of Mason City, Johnny Hall, of Hampton, Dorothy (Anthony) Theilen, of Nora Springs, Tommy (Bernice) Hall, of Rockford, Charlotte (Jerry) Litchman, of Nora Springs, Mike (Dori) Espinosa, of Rockford and Tony Espinosa, of Mason City; nieces and nephews, Dwayne McMann, of Mason City, Robin McMann, of Arizona, Tammy Theilen, of LaCrosse, Wis., Robert (Priya) Theilen, of Wilmar, Minn., Tommy Hall Jr., of Mason City, Jerry Hall, of Rockford, Mike Espinosa Jr., of Rockford, Jon Espinosa, of Rockford, Ron Jon Litchman, of Mason City, Brandy Litchman, of Nora Springs, Lyle Wyble, of Mason City, Rose Ficken, of Lacrosse, Wis., Christopher Willis, of Mason City, Jasmine Willis, of Mason City, Cathy Hall, and Johnny Hall Jr., great-nieces and nephews, Christina (Mark) Alcala and family, of Davenport, Tifiny Willis, of St. Paul, Minn., Mina Theilen, of Lacrosse, Wis.; special friend, Tony Haugen, of Clear Lake; along with many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, John Espinosa.
