Evelyn M. Mrachek, 90, of Charles City, died Monday, August 1, 2011, at 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Evelyn Mrachek will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Evelyn Marie Triska Mrachek was born March 13, 1921, in Winneshiek County, the daughter of Albert and Rose (Havel) Triska. She attended school at Spillville. On November 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clarence Mrachek. They moved to Charles City in 1966. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her interests included attending auctions, playing bingo and cards, listening to polka music, gardening and collecting salt and pepper shakers. They always looked forward to the annual Salsbury Chemical picnics where there was always plenty food, fellowship and fun and also the Czech Days in Protivin. Evelyn will always be remembered as a woman of faith to whom morning prayers and the Rosary were very important.

Living family members include her daughter, Sharon (Hal Miller) Heise of Ionia; four grandchildren, Michael (DeAnne) Mrachek, Sunday (Nathan) Tostenson, Jolene (Travis) Bilharz and Janel (Travis) Jones; eight great grandchildren, Jordan Mrachek, Alysha Bilharz, Mackenzy Bilharz, Katlyn Mrachek, Jacob Mrachek, Kaleb Bilharz, Megan Tostenson and Abby Tostenson; and two daughters-in-law, Connie Mrachek of Charles City and Carol Mrachek-Sawyer of Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on August 31, 1997; twin sons, Jerry and Larry Mrachek; a grandson, Ricky Mrachek; a brother, Leonard Triska; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Kostka.
