ROBESON, SWENDSEN, TOURTELLOTT

BORN IN CHARLES CITY, IOWA

DELTONA, FLORIDA - Gary Lee Robeson was born to Lyle and Bernetice (Bea) Robeson on Aug. 31, 1942 in Charles City, Iowa.

He passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Hospice of Volusla/Flager Care Center in Florida. His education was in the Rockford schools. After high school, Gary joined the Army. He served time in Korea. He received his honorable discharge from the Army. He worked for Decker's in Mason City for a while, then moved to Illinois and worked for Eastern Airlines for some time. He then went in to working with landscaping.

During that time he married the love of his life, Lois Swendsen. This marriage took place at Advent Lutheran Church in Streamwood, Illinois, on January 31, 1970. After their marriage he then decided to go back into the Army. He stayed with the Army until his retired. He spent time in Desert Storm, and several tours of duty in Germany.

After his retirement, they lived in Deltona, Florida, where he worked at Ace Hardware until health caused him to stop working.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, son Jasen (wife Alicia), and step-children, Ray, Rick (wife Sherry), and Sandra Swendsen, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren, sister, Doris Tourtellott, nieces and nephew, and several great nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in death are his parents, Lyle and Bea Robeson of Nora Springs, a brother, Tom, and a sister, Linda, a brother-in-law, Gordon Tourtellott and grandson, Johnny Swendsen.

Four Towns Cremation was in charge of cremation.

Gary will be missed by all those that knew, and loved, him. A very special man is now with our Lord.
