Osage – Tentative funeral rites are Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. James Naden, 62, who died Sunday at the Wass Nursing Home in Mason City. She had had major surgery at Christmas and never fully recovered. She was hospitalized at Mason City prior to being taken to the nursing home.

Nee Grace Hof, she was born February 23, 1888, at Nora Springs to John and Emma Hof. She moved with her parents to Charles City as a child, and there was married to James Naden in September, 1908.

They established their first home for a short while near Orchard, coming later to Osage, where she since lived. She was a lifelong member of Congregational Church.

She leaves her husband, one son Verne of Osage; one daughter Mrs. Fred Maass, Bandera, Tex; a brother, Mel Hof, Ft. Dodge; one granddaughter
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Mrs. Esther Lines; and two brothers, Clarence and Jo Hof.

Grace and her husband James R. Naden are buried in the Orchard Cemetery, Mitchell Co., Iowa.
