PIONEER MAN’S SERVICES HELD
MURRAY GRANDY, 82, NORA SPRINGS, DIES FOLLOWING ILLNESS

Nora Springe – Funeral services for Murray Grandy, 82, were held Friday afternoon at the Martin Scheeler Funeral Home at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Robert Davies officiating. Burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Grandy died Wednesday afternoon after a week’s illness. He was a pioneer resident of this community, having lived in and around Nora Springs the past 75 years.

His widow and four children survive. They are Mrs. Bessie Blado of Mason City; Mrs. Zella Butler of Nora Springs; Clair M. Grandy of Akron, Ohio; and Virgil Grandy at home.
He is also survived by five brothers; George and Arthur of California; Cyrus of Butte, Montana; Fred of Spooner, Wisconsin; Frank of Fremont, Nebraska; one sister, Mrs. Robinson of Pleasantville.
He had eight grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
