KIRBY JEAN PAPPAS

NORA SPRINGS - Kirby Jean Pappas, 15, of 217 N. Greeley Ave., Nora Springs, died Tuesday (April 16, 2002) at her home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave. in Mason City, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Orchard Cemetery in Orchard.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel in Nora Springs, with a Scriptural wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation will be from 8:30 until 10 a.m. on Monday at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City.

The family suggests memorials to the Kirby Jean Pappas Memorial Fund.

Kirby Jean was born July 1, 1986, in Mason City, the daughter of James A. and Sandra J. (Fink) Pappas. She was a sophomore at Nora Springs High School, cheerleader, enjoyed attending school and going to many sports events.

Kirby loved fashion, shopping, fixing her hair, watching movies, listening to music and going with her family to her grandparents' cabin, where she would fish, swim, play other water sports and where grandpa George always had treats for her in the boat.

Kirby babysat for her cousins, friends and worked at the Juke Box Drive Inn. She was always happy, outgoing and had a beautiful smile. She was a good friend to all.

Kirby was confirmed Saturday April 13, 2002, at Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was a member and also a member of the Class of 2004 Nora Springs High School.

Kirby is survived by her parents, James A. and Sandra J. Pappas, of Nora Springs; sister, Jody Pappas; and brother, Theodore Pappas, both of Nora Springs; maternal grandmother, Margaret Fink, of Nora Springs; and paternal grandparents, Marguerite and George Pappas, of Mason City; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, David; and grandfather, James Fink.
