NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Elizabeth Helene Hunt, 85, of Nora Springs, died Tuesday (April 16, 2002) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 Willowbrook Drive, Mason City, with the Rev. Terry Hamilton-Poore officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Elizabeth Hunt Memorial Fund.

NORA SPRINGS - Elizabeth Helene Hunt, 85, of Nora Springs, died Tuesday (April 16, 2002) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 Willowbrook Drive S.W. in Mason City, with the Rev. Terry Hamilton-Poore officiating.

Family will greet friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the church.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Elizabeth Hunt Memorial Fund.

Elizabeth was born Nov. 1, 1916, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Ward) Johanni. At the age of 8, Elizabeth came to live in Plymouth with her Aunt Cora Ward following the death of her mother, Grace.

On May 9, 1936, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Grant B. Hunt in Mason City.

Elizabeth was very involved in the North Iowa Kennel Club as secretary treasurer for more than 20 years. Her love of dogs also got her involved with the Iowa State Extension Service as a 4-H dog obedience instructor. To many people she was known as "The Dog Lady."

Elizabeth was also very interested in the Mason City Little Theater. With her excellent seamstress abilities she helped design and tailor the costumes. Elizabeth was a 60-plus year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mason City.

Those thankful for having shared in Elizabeth's life include her four children, Roger J. Hunt and his wife, Delores, Joan G. Harms and her husband, Gary, Nancy L. Timmerman and her husband, Dale, and James L. Hunt; eight grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth (Peggy) Morgan, Matthew Grant Hunt, Deborah Meyerhoff, Timothy Arnold Rabe, Jaimie Jo Rabe, Nathan Kim Timmerman, Sarah Jae Ihn Timmerman and Allison Rene Russo; seven great-grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Morgan, John Zachary Morgan, Marc David Meyerhoff, Chantise Jolynn Hunt, Nicolo Frank Russo, Isabella Ann Russo and Giovanna Marie Russo.

Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grant, in 1998; one grandson, Roger Joseph (Joe) Hunt Jr.; and her aunt, Cora Ward.
