SAMUEL R. 'SAM' PEDERSON

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Samuel R. "Sam" Pederson, 15, of 802 N. Congress, Nora Springs, died Tuesday (April 9, 2002) at Nora Springs.

His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky Ave., with Pastor Miles Grismore and Pastor David Callison officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sam Pederson Memorial Fund. Sam was born April 17, 1986, in Mason City, the son of Brad and Connie (Christensen) Pederson.

He was a sophomore at Nora Springs-Rock Falls High School, where he was involved in track and the school play, among other things. Sam had fun hanging out with his friends, listening to music, playing the piano, the computer and shopping at the mall.

He enjoyed outdoor activities such as riding his stuntbike, horseback riding, coon hunting with his brother and fishing. Sam had a contagious smile and could always make others laugh. He had a great love for people and an outgoing personality that rubbed off on all those around him.

Those who knew and loved him will never forget the way he could light up a room. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Sam is survived by his parents, Brad and Connie; brother, B.J. Pederson; two sisters, Cassie and Chrissy Pederson; niece, Kiley Jo Pederson; maternal Grandmother, Violet Christensen; aunts and uncles, Robert "Hutch" Pederson, Brian and Vicki Pederson, Pat and Jane O'Rourke, Bruce Christensen, David and Kris Christensen, and Pam Christensen; and cousins, Kristen, Teresa, Brodie, Emily, Callie, Ryan, Andrea, Mila, Matt and Jamie.

Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Emelia Pederson; maternal grandfather, Buford Christensen.
