MRS. A. VIRCHOW DIES SUDDENLY
FUNERAL WILL BE HELD AT GROSSMANN’S CHAPEL

CHARLES CITY, IOWA – Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Anna Virchow, 71, who died at her home, 803 North Main Street, Wednesday night at 9 o’clock. Services will be at Grossmann’s chapel, with the Rev. Walter M. Fritschel officiating, and interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Virchow was born April 11, 1872, in McHenry County, Illinois to Stephen and Elizabeth (Raemann) Wagner. At two years of age she came with her parents to Mitchell County, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood and attended public schools. In 1889 she was married to Albert Virchow and to this union eight children were born, three daughters and five sons.

Mrs. Virchow is survived by two daughters and four sons; Mrs. Earl Clark, Charles City; Mrs. Lillian Speedling, Mason City; Lloyd and Melvin Virchow of Charles City; Marvin Virchow, Minneapolis; and Roy Virchow, Sunnyvale, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1938 and by one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Reetz; and one son, Charles.
