GLADYS PEARL CUTLER

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Gladys Pearl Cutler, 88, of Nora Springs, died Sunday (Dec. 23, 2001) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Christian Church in Nora Springs, with Pastor Glen Bandel officiating. A graveside service will be held the same day at approximately 1 p.m. at the Willow Lawn Cemetery in Plainsfield.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs.

Memorials may be directed to the Nora Springs Care Center, 907 W. Congress in Nora Springs.

Gladys was born July 20, 1913, in Froid, Montana, the daughter of Sam J. and Julia (Shuros) Hugos. She moved from Montana to Iowa and lived in the Waverly and Charles City areas.

Gladys was united in marriage to Ivan Cutler on April 14, 1938, at the Big Canoe Lutheran Church, north of Decorah. The couple moved to Nora Springs in 1951, where Gladys was a homemaker.

She also worked part-time as a nurse's aid at Park Hospital in Mason City for several years.

She was an active member of the Gray Ladies Group in Nora Springs and the Nora Springs Christian Church.

For the past nine years she has been a resident of the Nora Springs Care Center. Gladys' great joy was spending time with her family.

Gladys will be greatly missed by her five children and their spouses, Dale and Berva Cutler, of Topeka, Kan., Larry and Marilyn Cutler, of Greenville, Tenn., Sharon Sabourin, of Royse City, Texas, Marcia and Bill Cobb, of Topeka, Kan., and Dan and Nancy Cutler, of Nora Springs; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, in 1973; a son, Raymond Cutler; a brother, Carl Hugos; a sister, Dora Peterson; a great-grandchild, Michael Carrillo, and a son-in-law, Stan Sabourin.
