Jim was born on April 15, 1935, to Harry and Mrytle (Weber) Clark in Chickasaw County. Just before Jim started the first grade, they moved into the Charles City area where he spent his childhood and graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School.

On September 1, 1954, Jim was united in marriage to Lois Koenigsfeld in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. For thirty years Jim devoted himself as a drill operator at White Farm before retiring. Work wasn't the only thing that Jim was devoted to. He was a man that would give the shirt off his back if it would help someone else. His heart was filled with love, compassion and understanding for those that he loved and those he barely knew. Jim could bring tears to his family as they laughed over the silliest things, and he was always the first to greet his neighbors and friends to share a cup of coffee and reminisce. His family was the center of his life. Teaching the grandchildren how to dance and sing "O' My Darling" and using creative phrases such as "I'm shutting it down" as he said goodnight to his youngest grandchild, Jordan.

His was always looking for a sale on candy and loved receiving salt-water taffy from the fair. He loved fishing, hunting and searching for rummage sales and auctions. Jim was delighted by the littlest things that life offered but most of all by his family.

His memories will be treasured by his wife, Lois of Charles City; a daughter, Cindy Davis and her husband, Doug, of Aurelia; a son, Scott Clark and his wife, Stacey, of Charles City; a sister, Marie Zimmerman, of Charles City; grandfather of four, Melissa, Jason and Eric Davis and Jordan Clark; godfather of eight, Steve Clark, Randy Koenigsfeld, Diana Larson, Todd Koenigsfeld, Tarri Fink, Jennie Vemmer, Jim Jung, and Rodney Goodale.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Delbert and Kenneth; a daughter; and two sons at birth.
