CHARLES CITY FUNERAL

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Oct. 1 — Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Fostor, 86, of 107 Spriggs Street, who died Sunday at the Kennard home in Floyd, were this afternoon from the home in this city, with Rev. G. A. Hess in charge. Interment was in Howardvllle Cemetery.

She was a pioneer of the county. The late Jerry Fostor was her son.

NOTE:

The Howardville Cemetery has a Sylvia B. Foster but the cemetery records (on IaGenWeb/Floyd) say she was born in 1843 and died in 1920.

"Foster, Sylvia B. 1843 -- 1920"

But, 1843 plus her age of 86 equals 1929. So, it is believed they are the same person and the "1920" was an error; and Foster is probably correctly spelled FOSTER, not FOSTOR as the newspaper had it.
