DEBORAH J. NEHLS

CHARLES CITY - Deborah J. (Mrs. Dennis) Nehls, 237 West Franklin, Denver, formerly of Charles City, died Tuesday (May 29, 2001) at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

A funeral Mass for Deborah J. Nehls will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, with Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil Scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to Mass on Saturday at the church.

Deborah Jean Paine Nehls was born July 5, 1949, at Mason City, the daughter of Roy and Shirley (Steinlich) Paine. She graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1967.

On Feb. 4, 1967, she was united in marriage to Dennis Nehls at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City.

During her career she was a supervisor for Hardees in Charles City, Oak Creek, Wis., and Waverly.

Deborah enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and playing bingo.

Living family members include her husband, Dennis, of Denver; a son, Ray and his wife, Toni Nehls, of Charles City; a daughter, Angela and her husband, John Hamilton, of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; and four sisters and their husbands, Cindy and Jerry Rasmus, of Destrehan, La., Barb and Loren Mahnesmith, of Nora Springs, Julie and David Underriner, of St. Ansgar, and Susan and Scott Wilde, of Grafton.

Her parents preceded her in death.
