MATTIE JUNKER

NASHUA - Mattie Junker, 87, of Nashua, passed away of natural causes Thursday (April 19, 2001) at the Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Falls.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Plainfield Baptist Church, Plainfield, with the Rev. Fred Austin officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Nashua, and one hour before services at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mattie Junker was born on May 6, 1913, at Gronigen, The Netherlands, the daughter of Johannes G. and Pieternella (Prims) Schwennen. She attended rural schools in Hardin and Butler counties.

She married Henry Junker Jr., in Allison on January 12, 1935. She was employed as a waitress and cook in the Nashua and Charles City area.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Paul and Lila Junker of Big Springs, Texas, and David and Charlotte Junker of Nashua; one sister, Anna Schwab, of Dumont; three grandchildren, Teresa Martin, Debra Schilling and Julie Schultz; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on Jan. 29, 1978; her parents; five brothers, Henry, Paul, Elza, Jacob and John Schwennen; and one sister, Hilda Moore.
