CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Services for Lona Dugan, 18, who died early Sunday in an automobile accident near Nashua, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City; burial in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Survivors include her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ray D. Dugan of Charles City; three brothers, Kenneth, Terry, and Ronnie, all at home; and a sister, Pamela at home

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Monday.

Charge of OMVUI in fatal
weekend crash near Nashua

NASHUA, IOWA — Lona Dugan, 18, of Charles City was killed outright in a two-car accident early Sunday on a gravel road northeast of Nashua.

According to the Chickasaw County sheriff's office which investigated the county's second road fatality this year,

Miss Dugan's car was struck by another car'whose driver has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants.

Miss Dugan had just pulled out onto the road from a farm a mile north and a mile east of Nashua where she had bidden goodnight to her fiance, Shawn Feltus, 20, of Charles City. The two had met there to go and return from races Saturday night.

As she pulled onto the road, her car was struck from behind by a car driven by Steven E. Hutzell, 18, of Nashua, thrusting the car into the ditch.

Hutzell, and a passenger, Steve Thein, 19, of Nashua, both suffered injuries and were taken to St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in New Hampton. They were listed in fair condition Monday.

Hutzell was charged with OMVUI. The accident happened at 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
