Pioneer of
Charles City
dies at 90

CHARLES CITY — Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Grossmann-Hage Funeral Home, for Walter Patrick Lynch, 90, a pioneer resident of the Charles City community.

He died Friday at the Rockford Convalescent Home where he had been a patient since March 9. Burial will be in Beckwith Cemetery near
Colwell.

Born in Floyd County on March 15, 1870, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynch.

January 3, 1894, he was married to Nettie M. Wiltse, Charles City. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Moose Lodge and a former member of the Odd Fellows.

Survivors include four sons; W. Raymond Lynch, C. Almon Lynch and Jesse Lynch, all of Charles City, and Nathaniel Lynch, Downey, California; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Matthews and Mrs. Kenneth Bluhm, both of Charles City; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; four sisters: Sister M. Agnese, Oak Park, Illinois; Mrs. F. J. Klein, St. Paul, Minnesota; Mrs. J. E. Nelms, Atlanta, Georgia; and Mrs. J. M. Toomey, Decatur, Georgia.
