ROCKFORD, IOWA - Nancy Jo. Cerwinske, 63, of 1661 190th St., Rockford, Iowa, died Thursday March 17, 2011 at her home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday March 22, at the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with the Rev. Wendy Johannesen officiating. Family suggests memorials to Rudd United Methodist Church, Rudd. Family will greet friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, Iowa.
Nancy was born on May 12, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Silas and Hazel (Schellhase) Thomsen. She attended and graduated from Orange Township School.
Nancy married Allan Cerwinske on Nov. 25, 1967, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.
Nancy loved her animals and never turned away a stray. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Allan Cerwinske, Rockford; two children Laurel (Jon) Skinner, Carl Junction, Missouri. and Lyndy (B.J.) Bruck, Rockford; two grandchildren Miranda Skinner and Preston Bruck; sister Sharon (Bill) O'Connor, LaPorte City; nephew Randy (Cindy) O'Connor, Peoria, Arizona; sister-in-law Lois (Robert) Carroll, O'Neil, Nebraska, three nieces Gwen (Brian) Compton, Billings, Montana, Jennifer (Todd) Abbott, Florida and Chris (Charles) Bergman, Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Tara and infant brother Marvin.
