Grace E. Lusk, 100, of Grundy Center and formerly of Charles City, died Monday afternoon, March 7, 2011, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center.

A funeral Mass for Grace Lusk will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Grace Elizabeth Snyder was born October 22, 1910, in Preston, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert N. and Agnes D. (Glenn) Snyder. She graduated from high school in Preston, Minnesota. On February 22, 1936, she was united in marriage to Alton Lawrence Lusk in Charles City. Grace taught in country schools in Minnesota for four terms, Caledonia, Minnesota for several years and three years in Rose Creek, Minn. She was also employed at Weinberger Drug and Grocery for 11 years in Charles City. She was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Ames. Her interests included reading, bird watching, quilt making and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Living family members include her five children, Connie Kannel of Plum City, Wis., Margie (Edward) Kannel of Ames, Susan (Darryl) Burgess of Waterloo, Tom (Debbie) Lusk of White Hills, Ariz. and Mary (Ron) McIntire of Grundy Center; 18 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Barb Kannel; son-in-law, Kenny Kannel; sister, Martha Gorman; and five brothers, Leonard, Arthur, Bert, Glenn and Monsignor Raymond Snyder.
