NORA SPRINGS - Joyce (Mrs. Richard) Wilcox, 80, formerly of 711 N. Iowa Street in Nora Springs, died Thursday (Jan. 18, 2001) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

The funeral for Joyce Wilcox will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with the Rev. Richard Pippert of the Shell Rock Valley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday.

Joyce Elaine Stewart Wilcox was born Jan. 5, 1921, at Floyd, the daughter of Lloyd and Hazel Raymond Stewart. She graduated from Floyd High School.

On Sept. 26, 1938, she was united in marriage to Richard Wilcox at Floyd. They moved from Floyd to Nora Springs in 1948. Joyce drove school buses for the Floyd and Nora Springs schools for many years.

She was a member of the Nora Springs United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed the Pancake Day, had been a Buffalo Day grand marshall and loved to volunteer.

Living family members include a daughter, Karen and her husband, Leo Jost, of Rock Falls; a son, Robert and his wife, Connie Wilcox, of Mason City; four grandchildren, Kory Jost, Lance and his wife, Lori Jost, Robbie Wilcox and his special friend, Amber, and Christine and her husband, Greg Posekany; two great-grandchildren, Brittney and Lincoln Jost; and two brothers, Lee and his wife, Alice Stewart, and Larry and his wife, Donna Stewart, both of Charles City; a sister, Harriett Elfers, of Charles City; and a close friend, Evelyn Altman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Raymond, George and Eugene.
