FORMER RESIDENT OF CHARLES CITY DIES

Charles City -- Miss Molly Root, 51, died Sunday afternoon in a Chicago, Ill., hospital where she had been a patient for about a week. She had been in failing health for the past year. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home with the Rev. H. W. Putney officiating, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Miss Root was graduated from the local high school and has been employed in New York, boston and Chicago. She lived the past 13 years in Chicago where she was associated with a large advertising concern. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and taught Sunday school while residing in Charles City.

She is survived by two sisters; Mrs. Dale Lawrence, Charles City; and Mrs. Reuben Rolfing of Wilmette, Ill.; three brothers; Grant Root, Charles City; Herbert Root, Ontario, Calif.; and Sidney Root, Hibbing, Minn. Her parents and one brother, Horace preceded her in death.
