DOROTHY HIRSCH

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Dorothy Hirsch, 86, of 2160 190th St., died Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with the Rev. Solomon Odoom, pastor of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday.

Dorothy Marie Hirsch was born March 23, 1914, in Floyd County, the daughter of Charlie and Maggie (Heitz) Hirsch. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1931 and worked in the office of the Iowa Public Service Co. in Charles City for 33 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of that church.

Living family members include a brother and his wife, Lester and Ginger Hirsch, of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, a brother, Milton Hirsch, and two sisters, Gladys Hirsch and Ruby Lokenvitz, preceded her in death.
