Anthony “Tony” Novak, 75, of Charles City, died Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Tony Novak will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Anthony Joseph Novak was born July 5, 1935, in Howard County, the son of Edward and Lillian (Neuzil) Novak. He received his education in Howard County. On October 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Gladys Zobeck at Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes. Tony was employed for 35 years at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company and for three years at Sherman Nursery. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. His interests included bowling and playing cards and Aggravation. Family was very important to Tony and he took every opportunity to share his life with them.

Living family members include six children, Wesley (Ellen) Novak of Conrad, Donald (Shelia) Novak of Spirit Lake, Garry Novak of Charles City, Danny (Lori) Novak of Charles City, Kevin (Anna) Novak of Independence, and Terri Novak of Charles City; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Agnes) Novak of Elma; and a sister, Mildred (Al) Hrdlicka of Elma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Kenneth “Jo Jo” Novak; and a sister Mary Phillips.
