Dorothy E. Meyer, 92, of Charles City, Iowa, died on Sunday afternoon, January 16, 2011, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Graveside services for Dorothy Meyer will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City. The family will greet friends at the Hauser Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Dorothy Elsie Meyer was born February 5, 1918, in Linn Grove, the daughter of William and Alice (Whitehouse) DeLong. She attended school in Linn Grove. On September 25, 1934, she was united in marriage to Clinton William Meyer at Storm Lake. Her interests included gardening, fishing, crocheting and baking.

Living family members include her three children, Clinton Meyer of Charles City, Patty (Fred) Miller of Charles City and Kay Shepley of Hawaii; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Jodi Shepley; great-grandson, Josh Barnish; brother, William DeLong; and a sister, Margie Wells.
