Woman Dies
of HospitalCHARLES CITY, IOWA — Funeral services were held Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home for Mrs. Alma Carney, 77, widow of Charles A. Carney, who died Thursday afternoon at the Cedar Valley Hospital wnere she had been a patient, for the past five and one-half weeks. The Rev. J. F. Machen, pastor of the Grace Episcopal Church officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Carney had been a lifelong resident of Charles City, born May 2, 1879, in Charles City. She was the daughter of Phillip and Louise S. Blumenstiel.
She was married to Charles A. Carney on June 12, 1907, in Charles City. She was a member of the Charles City Women's Club and of the Golden Years Club of the Congregational Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Moberg, Anoka, Minnesota, and Mrs. Kenneth Pope, Sacramento, California; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Niemack, Ames, and Mrs. Louella Richardson, Austin, Minnesota.
One brother, Fred Blumenstiel, preceded her in death.
