Rites To Be Held
Friday Afternoon
For A. H. Gast, 82

Succumbed Suddenly
To Heart Attack On
Wednesday Morning

A. H. "Bert" Gast, 83 died very suddenly about 8:30 Wednesday morning June 6, as the result of a heart attack. His death came as a shock to his family and friends, although he had had numerous heart attacks previously, since he had been in his usual health up until about three minutes before he succumbed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with the Rev. C. Dana Boggie, pastor of the Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in Park cemetery.

Mr. Gast was born May 15, 1863, at Rossville, Iowa, the son of John and Katherine Gast. He was married on Feb. 26, 1895, to Martha Kelly, and the couple observed their golden wedding anniversary this year. One daughter was born to the couple, Mrs. Earl Mosier of Nora Springs.

Mr. and Mrs. Gast moved to Nora Springs in 1919 and have spent the past 26 years in this community. Of a genial disposition, Mr. Gast had many friends throughout this area. He had served as township trustee for a number of years and had held numerous other positions of trust in the community.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and daughter, include three brothers, Walter and Ira Gast of Allamakee county and John Gast of Sanborn; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Erve of Osage, Mrs. Alden Adams of McIntyre and Mrs. Joseph Wachter of Harper's Ferry.
