FUNERAL TO
BE THURSDAY

CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Funeral services were to be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Hauser Funeral Home for Mrs. Rhoda H. Childs, 71, who died suddenly at her home late Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the First Methodist church, was the officiate. Interment was to be in the Howardville cemetery.

Mrs. Childs for many years operated the Childs beauty shop in Charles City. Until her health failed several years ago, she was active in Eastern Star and Women's Relief Corps. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and a resident of Charles City for 30 years. Edwin L. Childs, her husband, died on December 28, 1939.

Mrs. childs was born on October 3, 1874, at Luna Valley, Houston county, Minnesota, daughter of Edward C. and Anna Fahey Howard. Her husband, a sister, Miss Nellie Howard, and two brothers, Dr. George Howard, Sprague, Washington, and Ed Howard, La Crosse, Wis., preceded her in death. Mrs. Theodore Ross and Mrs. William Goecken of Charles City are nieces.
