ROBERT M. NORBY
RUDD, IOWA - Robert M. Norby, 79, died Saturday, December 2, 2000, at Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City.
In accordance with Robert's request there will be no services. The body was cremated. There will be a private scattering of ashes at the farm in the springtime when the corn is growing and the fish are biting.
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, is in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born on February 27, 1921, near Rudd, the son of Tillman and Gea (Field) Norby. He attended country school near Rudd.
On April 4, 1941, he was united in marriage to Doris Kuhlemeier at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. This union was blessed with four children: Roland and his wife, Mary, of Rudd, Barbara Novak and Toby Anama of Des Moines, Carolyn Smith and her husband, Tom, of Centerville, and Bill and his wife, Vikie, of Rudd.
He farmed near Rudd most of his life. Camping and fishing were a few of his favorite pastimes. He was a member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church.
Robert is survived by his wife, Doris; his four children; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, John, Michael, Kimberly, Norby, Mrs. John (Tammy) Berhends and her children, Nicole and Emily, Mrs. Travis (Roxanne) Stohr and their children, Chase and Chance, Mrs. Ronald (Heidi) Marzen and their children, Cody and Lee, Mrs. Gary (Lisa) Parks and their children, Dylan and Kaylee, Scott and his wife, Shadi Norby, and their daughter, Marissa, and Krystal Norby; and three brothers, Raymond and his wife, Nancy, of Rudd, John and his wife, Bonnie, of Osage, and Harold and his wife, Roberta, of Nora Springs.
His parents preceded him in death.
