CHARLOTTE M. GOLLY

CHARLES CITY - Charlotte M. Golly, 82, formerly of Alta Vista, died Friday (Dec. 29, 2000) at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma. Burial will be in St. Cecelia Cemetery, rural Elma.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Conway Funeral Home in Elma. There will be a rosary beginning at 4 p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m.

Charlotte M. Golly was born Aug. 15, 1918, in rural Alta Vista, the daughter of Bert and Clara (Doyle) Goodale. She attended Colwell school and later Deerfield school.

She was united in marriage to Robert Golly on Oct. 16, 1934, in Bethany, Mo. After their marriage the couple farmed near Alta Vista. After her husband's death in 1989, she remained on the farm until moving to Charles City in 1996.

Charlotte did custom sewing and was a seamstress for the Cinderella Shop and Band Box Cleaners until she retired.

Charlotte is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Lockwood and Linda (Bill) Hundt, both of Charles City; two sons, Kenneth (Kathy) Golly of Charles City and Harold (Priscilla) Golly of Austin, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, on Aug. 30, 1989; and one brother, Joseph Goodale.
