WILHELMINA BRUNING SCHULTZ**

Mrs. Albert J. Schultz

After an illness of a little more than a week, Mrs. Albert Schultz passed to her reward on Sunday, March 15, after having passed her 73rd birthday by 10 days. Mrs. Schultz was the youngest of eight children born to John and Dorothy Bruning of Bluten, Germany. Her early life was spent in the old country and here she received her education, and later became the wife of Albert J. Schultz on April 8, 1877.

While yet living in Germany three children were born, and while these were yet very young the famiy turned its thoughts to the New World, and finally said farewell to the land of their birth and set their faces to the west, embarking on board ship for the country of their choice.

They arrived in America July 19, 1882 and came directly to Iowa. Except for a residence of five years near St. Ansgar, they have lived near and in the town of Nora Springs.

There came to the home eight children, one of whom, Fred, gave his life for his county and died in France while on active service in the World War. He lies buried in the family lot at Park Cemetery where his mother will rest until the end of time.

The other children are Will of Galveston, Texas; Mrs. Will Marshall of Nora Springs, Mrs. H. Bruns of Mason City, Mrs. W. H. Ritze of Nora Springs, Otto L. who is on the old farm place north of town; Mrs. Charles Meter of Ventura; and Mrs. Willard Durant of Nora Springs. There are also twelve grandchildren.

Our sister has been a member of a church practically all of her life and for a long time has been as active as was possible in the Methodist church of this town. When in good health she never missed the church services, and the pastor could always depend on seeing her and her husband in the congregation.

She loved her Lord, and many happy visits with her are among the good things which remain to us at this time. Of late years our sister has not been in good health, but one did not expect her to go from us so soon, but the call came, and she was ready to answer it.

We have great sympathy for the children who are without their mother, but we think we have greater sympathy for the aged husband who will be so lonely now that his mate and dear one has left him. But we trust all things to our Master who "doeth all things well" and who will in His own time, enable us to understand the mysteries which seem so difficult now.

The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church of Nora Springs on Tuesday, March 17, at 2 o'clock. Her pastor the Rev. H. D. Green had charge of the obesquies. Interment was made at Park Cemetery.

** Note: It is believed that she is actually
