OBITUARY

Maria Aldrich was born October 19, 1878, at Lansing, Iowa. She passed away at 6:30 p.m. August 29, 1921, aged 42 years, 11 months and 16 days. In September 1907 she with her two sisters, Minnie and Bertha, came to Nora Springs. On March 2,1910 she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to W. P.Haight of Nora Springs at which place they have made their home ever since. To this union were born two children, Verna Emily and Earl Aldrich.

She grew up in the Methodist church and became a member of the same in early childhood. At the time of her death she was a member of the Progressive Sunday school class and superintendent of the Cradle Roll.

Her faithful, loving service to her church will be sorely missed. The veritable mountain of floral tributes show the esteem in which she was held by her host of friends. To know her was to love her. A loving, faithful wife and mother is gone and the vacancy in the home can never be filled.

She is survived by her husband, W. P. Haight, their two children, Verna and Earl, also two brothers, Willand and Charles of Lansing, Iowa; six sisters, Mrs. Earnest Furchner of Plankinton, S. D.; Mrs. C. C. Colbornson of Lansing, Iowa; Mrs Richard Erickson and Mrs. Joe Johnson of Waterville, Iowa; Mrs. Jay Bishop and Miss Bertha Aldrich of Nora Springs, besides twenty-seven nieces and nephews and a host of friends are left to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held August 31 at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. W. E. Butler officiating. Interment at Rock Grove cemetery.
