NORA SPRINGS, IOWA, Nov. 21-Funeral services for Mrs. Mahala McAdam were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church. The Rev. Frank Poole accompained by Mrs. Poole, sang two numbers. Burial was in Park Cemetery.

Mrs. McAdam was born June 19, 1867, at Roachdale, Ind., coming to Iowa with her parents when she was 6. She grew up on a farm 3 1/2 miles north of Nora Springs. Early in life, she qualified herself for the teaching profession which she followed more than 30 years. Six years of that time were spent in government work among the Indians on reservations at Pipestone, Minn. and in the states of South Dakota and California.

On March 29, 1888, she was married to George McAdam at Nora Springs. They settled on a farm in the vicinity. After a time, failing health compelled the husband to quit the farm and he accompanied his wife in her teaching and taught maunal arts in California and Minnsota. He died about 12 years ago.

About six years ago she suffred with a severe illness and after a long convalascence she almost completely regained her health. Tuesday evening she was taken critically ill and died Friday afternoon. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was actively interest in politics. She was an active member of the Rebekah lodge and the Rebekahs attended her funeral in a body.

Pallbearers were neighbors, C. E. Thompson, Con Apel, Frank Seaver, Ray Shanks, Thomas Treloar and Henry Hasslehop. She leaves her two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith of Nora Springs and Mrs. Homer Treloar of Aledo, Illinois.
