ROCKFORD, IOWA - Gordia K. Ehlers, 77, died on Saturday, December 30, 2000, at USA Health Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Rockford, with the Rev. Murley Severtson officiating.

Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Tuesday at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Rockford. Visitation will resume from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday.

Gordia was born April 19, 1923, the daughter of George and Genora (Olson) Erie in Ostander, Minn. On March 22, 1947 Gordia was united in marriage to Arnold Ehlers. A few short years following their marriage the couple made their home in Rockford.

Gordia looked forward to taking drives and going shopping with her son and daughter. She loved to watch "As The world Turns" on television and was very disappointed if she missed it.

Those thankful for having shared in Gordia's life include her son, Robert Ehlers, of Rockford; daughter, Linda Johnson and her husband, Gary, of Spring Valley, Minn.; three sisters, Pearl Bustad, of Grand Meadow, Minn., Arlene Skifter, of Grand Meadow, Minn., June Knode and her husband, George, of LeRoy, Minn.; two brothers, Glen Erie and his wife, Edna, of Marion, and Arlo Erie and his wife, Roseanne, of LeRoy, Minn.; four grandchildren, Nicole Beckman, Matthew Johnson, Kari Johnson, and Dana Johnson.

Mrs. Ehlers was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; and one sister, Ione Sweetser.
